Dear friends of Kent and Ann Moriarty, Kent's mom Roddie Stelle phoned with some news: 1) Their next dispatch (covering from Mazatlan to Puebla) will be printed in the Contra Costa Times and the West County Times on Sunday 26 April 1998. 2) For the foreseeable future there is no way to send postal mail to Kent and Ann. The postal systems of Central America are just too unreliable and the process is too chancy and inconvenient. We'll let you know when it again becomes possible to send regular mail. Until then, the best way to reach them is to send email to me. I'll route your email messages to Kent and Ann via a variety of different routes. (Remember, they have cancelled their voice mail service.) 3) They're feeling fine. Ann's back pain has disappeared. 4) Today, Saturday 25 April, Kent and Ann are with a World Vision team in Chiquimula, Guatemala, near the Honduras border. Tomorrow (Sunday) they plan to proceed toward Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. 5) One of the chainrings (front or middle sprocket) on their new bike is already wearing out, being made of aluminum. Roddie is shipping a steel replacement to Tegucigalpa. -- Phil Davidson PhilDavidson@compuserve.com http://www.idiom.com/~davidson/ 2016A Ninth Street, Berkeley, CA 94710-2116 USA Telephone 510-843-3156 (days 415-895-2820, fax 415-895-2116)
