Junk mail, spam, and telephone solicitations

Ways to suppress junk mail and telephone solicitations
- The
Mail Preference Service (MPS) of the
Direct Marketing Association (DMA).
Writing them a letter seems to reduce one's junk mail.
- The
Telephone Preference Service (TPS) of the
Direct Marketing Association.
Writing them a letter might reduce the telephone solicitations one receives.
The people at
Private Citizen
believe the TPS is an ineffective sham.
-
Private Citizen
is a paid service that informs mailers and junk callers
of one's unwillingness to receive junk mail and telephone solicitations.
(I wonder whether the "little known Postal Service form" that Private Citizen gives members
is form 2150, which stops mail from a particular company.
Ironically, I learned of Postal Service form 2150 from the DMA's
MPS page.)
